She's great when she chokes down the martini to be rude in front of her father's new wifey.

Right, Armageddon is the bloated, jingoistic version of the same story - but for all its action and explosions, I'd rather watch Deep Impact.Richard Bellamyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12397053921647421425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5929352816561809263.post-64738699532195421112009-11-19T16:13:59.504-05:002009-11-19T16:13:59.504-05:00Despite the film's many faults (like the TV-li...Despite the film's many faults (like the TV-like leaden direction), I do enjoy watching this film whenever it's on even despite Téa Leoni's presence who is the acting equivalent of a black hole. Fortunately, she doesn't take up too much screen time and is dispatched by a tsunami.

And plus, you've got Frodo outrunning a tidal wave of water. How can you beat that? It does act as a calmer counterpoint to the chest-beating bravado of ARMAGEDDON which seemed to steal all the thunder between these two competing killer asteroid films.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08164105442273577128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5929352816561809263.post-35380796424299897302009-11-19T11:20:30.545-05:002009-11-19T11:20:30.545-05:00Thanks for the comment. That'..."Téa Leoni heads the cast..."

That's something you don't hear very often. I haven't seen this film, so I'd like to contribute the only Tea Leoni anecdote I have:

As some people might know, Tea Leoni is (was?) married to David Duchovny. And, as some people might know, in 1999 there was a pop song with chorus lyrics that asked "David Duchovny why won't you love me?"

OK. So a while after the release of the song I saw Duchovny on some talk show and he was asked about the song and what his wife thought about it. He said she was jealous and so the two of them made up their own song called "Tea Leoni why won't you blow me?"

That kills me.

OK. Now back to the regularly scheduled discussion of Deep Impact.Jason Bellamyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18150199580478147196noreply@blogger.com
